  • Summary

    5 out of 5 5.0

What does this car say about you?

    Couldn't care less.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

    Like it.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes, very economical, practical, reliable and long lasting (diesel). Toyotas don't rust much.

What are you likely to buy next?

Just bought an Aygo (second car)...love it, even better than the Yaris (not for torque tho') IMO (not my wife's though). Next after that will probably be another Toyota.

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Franchised

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £4,800

When did you buy the car?

    October 2010

Did you get a good deal and why?

Reasonable. They got the car from another part of the country, which helped.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Economical, practical, reliable, previous Toyota experience excellent, they don't rust as quick as other makes so can keep a long time.

    What was the dealer like?

The salesman was hopeless, arrogant, unprofessional, didn't answer emails. Had a lot of problems, initially. Big chip in windscreen covered up by RFL, engine clogged up with diesel recycle waste. First 2 times we used brakes in emergency the car veered violently off to the left. Had to take in again. Engineer was excellent though. Seat belt part missing. When we picked the car up the salesman gave us a very little time then disappeared. The car wouldn't start, went back to the showroom, but the other staff could not find him for quite a while. When he appeared he didn't even apologise, just said it was probably because it had just been washed.

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

Great, especially when the turbo kicks in, amazing amount of torque. My wife feels safer in this car in the icy weather. Gears can seem too far apart sometimes (literally) 1st to 2nd, but my wife doesn't agree. Can't throw it into corners like our previous car (Ka), steering feels too light to me (a problem that nearly all modern cars suffer from) Don't like power steering at all, too vague.

    What's it like to park?

    Great, easy.

  • Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?

No, not since the initial problems.

What's most practical about your car?

The ease of entering. Moving rear seats, can either have large boot or lots of passenger space, don't know why more manufacturers don't do this. Means we could buy a smaller car. Lots of storage.
