Summary
What does this car say about you?
Toyota is a premium brand, and although the car is 7 years old now it still looks very smart. People think I'm posh driving a toyota.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
They are always pleasantly surprised about how small it is to look at yet its so spacious inside.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes I would. Its extremely spacious inside with several more little compartments, yet its a small car that you can flit about in. The engine is extremely reliable, and the Toyota service I've experienced since has been superb. For example, they repair punctured tyres completely free for the lifetime of the car.
What are you likely to buy next?
Probably a Toyota corolla verso, we're planning a family so will need a bigger car.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchised
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£6,000
When did you buy the car?
April 2010
Did you get a good deal and why?
Yes, this was a 'star car' that I found on the Parkers website so I bought a car worth £8k for £6k.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
I wanted a small diesel to complete a long daily commute to work.
What was the dealer like?
Very nice, polite, quite transactional though.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Its not quick, and it feels under-powered by this is probably why its so good on fuel. At high speeds the engine is quite loud but I just turn the stereo up.
What's it like to park?
A doddle. Great power steering and a tiny bonnet means its super easy.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Not a single thing; I've done 53k miles since owning it and I've only had to do routine maintenance such as tyres, oil and and fluids. It is reliable as sin.
What's most practical about your car?
The build quality has been as good as the day I got it with 7k on the clock. The MPG has never declined either. The tiny size makes for it be super at whizzing around town and fitting into tiny spaces. £30 road tax, and really low insurance costs.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
I was looking at a VW polo at the time and found most extras in a Polo come as standard in this Yaris. I love the fold flat seats - I've fitted a king size bed frame in this car and 2 adults. It is truly a tardis.
