Toyota Yaris (2011 - 2020) 1.33 VVT-i Icon 5d Owner Review

My Yaris is a 1.3 Icon with a sat nav fitted. I bought it from main dealer. It had only done 3000 miles at 12 months old and was in a promotion by the dealer to shift a back log of used cars from the March 2016 new plate activity. I had read extensively on the internet review after review about the Yaris. The reviews were mixed but generally positive. A lot of reviews point towards the Ford Fiesta as an alternative. The promotion price along with a decent PX swayed me to try the Yaris. I have now completed 1500 miles of mixed motoring. I am very pleased with this car. The engine will never win a standing start against some of the hot contenders. But it does have a decent turn of speed. I find 2nd gear takes me well into the 40's quite quickly and 3rd will carry me to 60. This is plenty for me and may I suggest most people. Fuel is quite good about 50 overall. It drives very pleasantly and feels like it will last forever. Plenty of space for 4 adults and a decent boot. Car tax on this model £30 a year. I haven't driven a Ford Fiesta and I'm sure they are great cars, but I am very happy with the remains of my 5 year warranty and what I think is a very good car all round.
