What does this car say about you?

This is a car for a confident person. It is not a Ferrari or a Porsche or any other such manhood extension, but it is a prestige supercar. If you're not good with attention then this is not the car for you.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Everyone I have encountered has been amazed since I bought this car. It's simplistic but bold and chunky lines are what makes the car so beautiful. I'm not sure the neighbours are so keen on the sound of a V8 when I go out at 07:30 some mornings but I've not had any negative comments so far!

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes, absolutely. I mentioned earlier that it's not a Ferrari or a Porsche or etc... to be honest, it's far better. It sounds better, it looks better, it's more comfortable and believe it or not, it's faster than pretty much every Porsche on the road and certainly quicker than 75% of the common Ferrari's. This car is a triumph of British engineering and would be thoroughly recommended to anybody wa

What are you likely to buy next?

A GR14 jet aircraft? Actually in all likelyhood it'd be another TVR. Maybe a Sagaris.

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Independent

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £14,250

When did you buy the car?

    October 2006

Did you get a good deal and why?

I did get a good deal on the car. The dealer was flexible with the amount of money he wanted for the car, which was pretty good anyway even before I entered into negotiations with him and then he threw in a free hpi check and three month "Gold" all inclusive warranty on top.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

I bought the Cerbera due to the prestige, marque and raw performance of the TVR badge. I had wanted a Cerbera for some years, however was never able to afford to insure or run one. Fortunately circumstances changed and I now found myself with the car of my dreams.

    What was the dealer like?

The dealer was very accomodating and more than happy to both show me around the entire vehicle, advising of all of the functions of the various nondescript shiny buttons in the cockpit and then even allowed a test drive, which most people or dealers with TVR's just won't do - especially when the buyer admits they've never driven a RWD vehicle with such immense power.

    What's it like to drive?

The TVR Cerbera is not an easy car to drive in town. The suspension is not designed for short cuts down bumpy side roads and the stiff, long throw clutch combined with a short shift gearbox that requires precision and assertiveness makes it tiring as a town car. Frontal view is another thing you have to get used to as well. There's not much of it and you'll need a bit of concentration at first bef

    What's it like to park?

The Cerbera requires a lot of practise to park, the wing mirrors are clearly not designed for this purpose and the chunky, bulging lines car deceive you into thinking you're closer to the kerb than you really are. You'll need to use other cars as referrence points when parking or you'll end up making a terrible hash of it and then face the embarressment of a restart and shuffle to neaten it up, wh

Have you had any problems with the car?

So far nothing 'major' has gone wrong with the vehicle. The door release button decided to ignore me for half a day but this has self rectified. Apart from this, the car itself is a gem and a joy to own.

What's most practical about your car?

Lets get this straight, there is NOTHING practical about owning a TVR. All you have room for is a set of golf clubs in the boot and a spare seat on which to perch your girlfriend of choice in order to count the amount of people stopping in the street to watch your Cerb' go by. Fuel ecconomy is pretty good for a 4.2 V8 though.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

The Cerbera comes with very few toys - No ABS, No TCS and NO AIRBAG... so don't crash it. However my one has a full leather interior, the fantastic smell of which hits you every time you get in and a full TVR sports exhaust system, which seems perfectly tuned to the engine note.
