TVR Tamora Convertible (2001-2007) engines, drive and performance

Impressively for a small company, TVR builds its own engines and for sheer muscle they really take some beating. The Tamora comes with a 3.6 litre straight-six which produces almost 100bhp per litre – very few cars can stay with it in a straight line. And any hot hatch will know it’s met its match.
Ride is surprisingly comfortable, and the steering is phenomenally fast which makes catching the tail easier, but it is also often the cause of the rear-end sliding about in the first place. One of the dynamically best sorted TVRs to date; one of the easiest to drive.
