Citroen Nemo dimensions (2008-2017)
Citroen Nemo dimensions
Looking for dimensions info on the Citroen Nemo van? Then you've come to right place, as here you'll find details about how big it is and what size the load space is - as well as payload and towing capacity.
To find out what this tiny van is like to drive, whether it's worth buying used and how fuel efficient it is, see our main Citroen Nemo review page.
Citroen only made the Nemo in one body size – there are no high roof or long-wheelbase variants – and the idea was to cram as much load capacity as possible into a vehicle that takes up about as much space on the road as a Fiat Punto.
The results, thanks to useful design features, are pretty impressive.
Citroen Nemo exterior dimensions:
- Citroen Nemo length: 3,864mm
- Citroen Nemo height: 1,721mm
- Citroen Nemo width including door mirrors: 2,019mm
- Citroen Nemo width excluding door mirrors: 1,684mm
- Citroen Nemo wheelbase: 2,513mm
Be in no doubt, this is a small van – it is in fact shorter and narrower than a current Ford Fiesta Van, although the door mirrors do stick out a little further. Despite this, the Nemo has 2.5x the load volume.
Citroen Nemo load area dimensions:
- Citroen Nemo maximum load length behind seats: 1,523mm
- Citroen Nemo maximum load length with Extenso passenger seat folded: 2,491mm
- Citroen Nemo maximum load height: 1,205mm
- Citroen Nemo maximum load width: 1,473mm
- Citroen Nemo load width between wheelarches: 1,046mm
- Citroen Nemo load volume behind seats: 2.5 cubic metres
- Citroen Nemo load volume with Extenso passenger seat folded: 2.8 cubic metres
The Extenso passenger seat is a handy fold flat front seat that more than doubles the length of items that can be fitted into the back of the Nemo – so planks and pipes aren’t a problem if you’re travelling single handed.
It wasn’t originally standard on every model, but by the time the Nemo stopped being sold in the UK, even the most basic X variant had the Extenso seat included.
A simple ladder frame protects the driver in most versions, though a folding metal mesh bulkhead was also available from the options list, alongside a full metal bulkhead (with or without inset window) for those who don’t need the extra loading length.
Can the Citroen Nemo carry a Euro pallet?
There is just about enough room for a Euro pallet in the back of the Nemo, though you will have to load it lengthways.
What size are the door openings?
The Citroen Nemo has the following door opening sizes:
- Citroen Nemo side door opening width: 410-644mm
- Citroen Nemo side door opening height: 1,041mm
- Citroen Nemo rear door opening width: 1,056-1,140mm
- Citroen Nemo rear door opening height: 1,046-1,067mm
Entry-level Nemos weren’t fitted with sliding side doors as standard, but LX specification and above got one on the passenger side, and a second on the opposite side was optional. The opening is not very wide, however, so bigger items will need to be loaded through the asymmetrical rear doors.
These came as plain steel as standard, with glazed rear doors available from the options list.
For a small van, payload is more than reasonable, ranging 610-660kg, depending on model. The 1.3-litre HDi diesels have the highest payload ratings.
The Nemo weighs just over a tonne without anything in it, so it’s a properly lightweight little thing. This helps with the fuel economy, which can crack 60mpg if you’re careful.
Towing capacity is 400kg with an unbraked trailer, 1,000kg with a braked trailer.
