Mercedes-Benz X-Class dimensions (2017-on)
Full details of the Mercedes X-Class load area and carrying capability, including load bed dimensions, payload rating and maximum towing capacity.
All the the exterior and load area dimensions for the Mercedes X-Class pickup are listed on this page.
Unsurprisingly, the X-Class has very similar dimensions to that of the Nissan Navara, with which it shares its chassis and other components.
However, just like so many other things about these two pickups, they aren’t exactly the same.
Mercedes X-Class exterior dimensions
The X-Class’s exterior dimensions are marginally different to the Navara’s, but not to the extent that they would make any tangible difference to how you would be able to use either vehicle.
Mercedes X-Class size | |
Exterior length (mm) | 5,340 |
Exterior height (mm) | 1,819 |
Exterior width, mirrors folded (mm) | 1,916 |
Exterior width with mirrors (mm) | 2,113 |
Wheelbase (mm) | 3,150 |
Front overhang (mm) | 888 |
Rear overhang (mm) | 1,302 |
To be clear, since you presumably don't have the Navara's exterior dimensions memorise, the Mercedes is ever so slightly longer, taller and wider - but we are only talking a few millimetres in every instance.
It may also be worth noting that chief rival the VW Amarok is wider still.
Mercedes X-Class load area dimensions
These are the X-Class load bed dimensions, which again differ slightly to those of the Navara.
Mercedes X-Class load bay dimensions | |
Maximum load length (mm) | 1,587 |
Maximum load width (mm) | 1,560 |
Width between wheelarches (mm) | 1,215 |
Sidewall height (mm) | 475 |
Loading height from ground (mm) | 854 |
Did you spot the difference? The X-Class’s load area is 50mm longer than the Navara’s – though all of the other dimensions are the same.
Mercedes X-Class load area accessories
Mercedes has designed a whole range of accessories in-house, from roll bars to soft and hard load covers.
And in addition to offering a regular bed liner, Mercedes again borrows from the Navara to make available versatile load lashing rails for the floor and sides, plus a bed divider system and a storage box.
The X-Class matches the 3.5-tonne towing capacity of the Navara and all the other best-in-class pickups.
As for payload, the X-Class is right up with the best in the sector, with ratings stretching up to 1,140kg.
The X 220 d in Progressive trim is rated to carry the most, with an official gross payload of 1,140kg. The lowest rating for the four-cylinder models is the X 250 d in Pure trim, which offers 1,112kg of carrying ability.
