As Iveco paves the way for its all new Daily van later in the year, Glenside Commercials, the official Iveco dealer for Caerphilly in South Wales, is offering some great deals on the current generation van. Brand new, 3.5 tonne variants can be purchased from just £17,995 plus Vat, a saving of over £10,000 off the list price.
Loading Attributes
With a kerbwight of just over 2 tonnes, the Daily is the heaviest van on the market and, as such, can’t legally carry as much as other 3.5t vans. The medium wheelbase, high roof variant has a payload of 1420kg, which compares to around 1650kg for a similar sized Vauxhall Movano or Renault Master.
In terms of volume, the van is capable of carrying up to 8.3m³ of load volume. A full height steel bulkhead is standard, although side loading doors and cargo lining are optional extras. With 1,320mm between the wheel arches, Europallets can fit through either way and at 2.6 metres long, there’s more than enough room for an 8×4 sheet.
Respected Engine
Under the bonnet is Fiat Power Train’s (FPT) 2.3-litre direct injection diesel, which has been tuned to 105bhp. The peak torque of 270Nm is achieved across a wide band from 1,800 to 2,600rpm. Because the Daily range starts at 3.5t, it’s classed as a heavy commercial so official fuel economy figures aren’t published. However, the Fiat Ducato employs the same, 2.3-litre engine, with the standard van returning a respectable 39.8mpg on the combined cycle.
Great Aftersales Support
Daily operators benefit from Iveco’s respectable aftersales service, which includes Assistance Non Stop (ANS), a 24 hours a day, 365 days a year breakdown recovery service and a range of service and repair options which can be carried out with no prior appointment. The warranty is fairly comprehensive too, at 3 years with unlimited mileage.

If you can, it might be worth paying the extra £755 for the 125bhp variant. Fuel economy figures shouldn’t be much different, but you will also receive an additional 50Nm of torque, bringing it up to 320Nm.
