This week’s best deal comes from Pentagon, with a red hot deal on the NV400 in a colour of your choice. The standard model is available from just £11,995 plus VAT, which is around £2,500 cheaper than its Renault and Vauxhall counterparts.
The E Grade doesn’t come with a flattering amount of kit, but all the essentials like a full bulkhead, radio with MP3 and iPod connectivity, electric mirrors, central locking, driver armrest and twin side loading door are part of the standard features.
Room for three Europallets
Being the 2800, it’s the lightest variant of the NV400 but it can still carry just over a tonne (1030kg). In the back, there’s 8m³ of load space and enough room to fit an 8×4 sheet, at 2583mm long, or three Euro pallets.
Fuel consumption not great
Under the bonnet is a 99bhp rated, 2.3-litre version of Renault/Nissan’s 2.0-litre dCi unit which features in the Nissan Qashqai and Renault Laguna, and it’s coupled with a 6-speed manual transmission.
It’s not the most fuel efficient engine, returning around 34.9mpg on the combined cycle, but it was developed specifically for commercial vehicles, and as such produces torque outputs of up to 285Nm.
Free roadside assistance
Buyers should be aware that Nissan give the least comprehensive warranty when it comes to light commercials, at just three years or 60,000 miles. The service intervals are some of the shortest on the market, at two years or 25,000 miles, whichever comes first.
However, buyers do benefit from Nissan Care program, which features free roadside assistance with onward mobility, a 48-hour response promise from the customer support team, and the Nissan match on price for services and repairs.

You may want to upgrade to the SE spec, which includes cruise control, ESP, rear parking sensors, electric windows, trip computer, cargo flooring on top of the standard E grade spec, but this will cost you £1,500 more. This is also the 3.3t variant, so it will be able to carry an extra half a tonne, roughly.
