Volkswagen has introduced an even more luxurious version of its Caddy van.

Called the Black Edition, the new special edition is based on the range-topping Highline trim and is only available on the short-wheelbase panel van with the 101bhp 1.6-litre TDI diesel.

Available only in black pearlescent paint, hence the name, the new limited-run Black Edition adds black 17-inch wheels, lower sports suspension, silver roof rails and radiator grille surround.

Inside, the special edition adds leather and alcantara seats, a leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel and gearshift lever. A full-height solid bulkhead helps keep noise levels down.

The driver also gets Bluetooth connection, electrically adjusted and heated wing mirrors, rear parking sensors, cruise control, radio with CD player and aux-in socket plus a trip computer.

The Caddy Black Edition is priced at £17,860 (ex. VAT) and will only be available from 1 October until 31 December 2014.
