The standard fitment of telematics to Citroen commercial vehicles has been extended to include the Relay Ready-to-Run conversion range. The system, developed by reputable firm Teletrac, helps recover stolen vehicles and includes Satellite navigation with the option of low cost fleet management services.

“The unique Citroën Teletrac telematics package has been specially developed to provide our LCV customers with an unrivalled range of operational, safety, security and financial benefits”, explained Jeremy Smith, Citroen’s head of commercial vehicles & business sector operations.

“The system plays an important part in Citroën’s commitment to reduce carbon footprints and raise the efficiency of its LCV range”.

Fleet management system

Fleet Director, the optional fleet management service, helps staff back at the office manage the use and efficiency of their vehicles better by combining GPS tracking with business intelligence feature. This then identifies areas where safety can be improved and efficiency savings made.

Safety Analytics is an award-winning program within Fleet Director that increases productivity and promotes safe driving. Commercial vehicle drivers are 50 percent more likely to be involved in an accident and the system monitors driver behaviour to generate a driver safety score reports based on a specific set of driving parameters.

Vehicle recovery

The deal also includes Stolen Vehicle Tracking, which helps the police locate the vehicle in the event of a burglary. The system’s introduction into the rest of the range has seen 98 percent of stolen vehicles recovered – equivalent to £480,000-worth.
