The Volkswagen Amarok is the latest pickup to be covered by Auto Styling’s Truckman series. The Truckman series was only launched two years ago, and already provides canopies for the Ford Ranger, Toyota Hilux and Mitsubishi L200.
Commercial vehicle hardtops from Auto Styling have proved popular with pick-up truck users and fleet operators in off-highway sectors and industries such as railway track maintenance, power distribution, telecoms and construction.
Payload isn’t too badly affected, either, with the Amarok canopy weighing in at around 100kg. Given the nominal payload of 1070kg, it can still carry loads of almost a tonne. There is an internal height of 1,050mm, an aperture height of 980mm and an aperture width of 1,030mm.
The large, double skin side and rear doors, which are secured by double slam locks, allow flexible access to bespoke racking and storage systems, which can be installed to create a multipurpose workspace to store and transport tools and equipment. The doors are designed to channel rain water away from the driver and vehicle contents when opened.
To allow vehicle converters and coach builders to install additional lights and alarms systems, the Truckman Utility Top has a built-in electrical conduit for easy wiring and a white gloss interior for effective wet cleaning.
The Volkswagen Amarok Truckman is priced at a fairly hefty £2,170.20, although this does include VAT. There are plans to roll one out for the Isuzu D-Max in the near future.
