In addition to the Winter Deals offered on the Volkswagen Transporter T6 and Volkswagen Crafter, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is offering the Volkswagen Amarok on Contact Hire and Finance Lease deals for business customers and Personal Contract Plan for private buyers.
Business only deals
Contract Hire and Finance Lease deals start from £239 per month, and relate to the Volkswagen Amarok Trendline 2.0-litre TDI 140. Subject to a 10,000 mileage cap over the 36 month agreements, the initial rental is £2,633 for the Finance Lease deal and £1,434 on the Contract Hire.
The Amarok is very refined on the road and boasts a respectable 3.2-tonne towing capacity but despite the 138bhp peak power, the engine feels gutless outside of the narrow power band and the steering is quite vague.
With Contract Hire, your payments pay for the depreciation of the vehicle, which means it’s an attractive option for vehicles with high residual values like the Volkswagen Amarok. VAT registered companies can reclaim 50 percent of the total payments made and 100 percent of the maintenance costs.
While the down payment for the Finance Lease deal maybe more, you can still claim 50 percent of VAT on the payments and 100 percent of VAT on the maintenance costs.
What’s more, you can even boost your equity by receiving a proportion of the sale at the end of the term so long as the pickup is worth more than the Guarenteed Minimum Future Value (GMFV).
Personal contract deals
For private customers, there is also an offer on the special edition Volkswagen Amarok Atacama 2.0-litre BiTDI 180. The Personal Contract Plan (PCP) means that you’ll be able to own your vehicle at the end of the agreement, but there’s a hefty inital deposit and final payment.
The Atacama, which has a list price of £33,202 (fairly expensive considering the similarly specced Isuzu D-Max Fury costs £10,00 less), requires a down payment of £9,853.11, 35 monthly payments of £319, and a final payment of £15,101.25 plus documentation fees. As with the other deals, the mileage cap is 10,000 a year.
All the deals are available from any of the 72 Volkswagen Van Centres nationwide until the 31st of December 2015.
