Mercedes-Benz Vans has upgraded its Approved Used scheme, with vans of up to six years old and 150,000 miles on the clock now eligable. The programme is designed to give assurance of quality to buyers of older vehicles and is expected to increase residual values of silver star-badged vans.

The Approved Used programme has been running for over a decade, helping thousands of owners afford high quality vans with the backing of Mercedes-Benz’s aftersales service.
All vans come with a full service history as part of the programme with a multi-point check carried out beforehand to make sure that they meet the required standard. The vans’ history is also checked, to ensure they haven’t been written off, stolen or have any outstanding finance left to pay on them.
There is also a 12-month MOT and extendable 12-month ‘wear and tear’ warranty. Tyres are replaced if there’s less than 5mm tread remaining and a full service is carried out if there’s less than 5,000 miles to the next scheduled one. Vans also benefit from a full valet and the 12-year anti-corrosion warranty is renewed.
“We understand that our customers want to enjoy the benefits of owning a Mercedes-Benz van, and it is our job to ensure they are in the right vehicle for their requirements and budget,” explains Mick Glover, head of vehicle remarketing at Mercedes-Benz Vans.
“We have redeveloped our Approved Used criteria to better serve the needs of van operators – it is very clear exactly what standards all of our Approved Used vans now adhere to, and this enables customers to have a broader spectrum of vehicles that could better suit their needs.”
Flexible financing
Through the Mercedes-Benz Agility contract purchase agreement, all ‘Approved Used’ vans come with a £500 deposit contribution with drivers able to decide whether to purchase, hand back or part-exchange the vehicle at the end of the agreement.
Approved Used Mercedes-Benz Citans on 14-plates are now available from just £29 per week if acquired before the end of September 2016. Vans are available in white and silver on a four-year 8.4-percent APR PCP agreement, based on 10,000 miles per year.
