Volkswagen extends Van Centre network to 72

Volkswagen’s highly-respected dealer network, the “VW Van Centres”, is to extend into Plymouth and Glasgow. The two new additions to the network bring the total number of LCV-only retails sites to 72 nationwide.

Bespoke experience for customers

Volkswagen is one of only a handful of manufacturers to offer a dedicated commercial vehicle dealer network, but unlike the others (Ford’s Transit Centres, Vauxhall’s Premier Van Centres and Mercedes-Benz’s Commercial Vehicles); the Van Centres only deal with vans, conversions and pickups.

This allows the sales and aftersales staff to offer customers a more tailored experience, with more flexibility when it comes to servicing and practical advice on all aspects of van ownership, from finance and insurance through specialist conversions to whole life costs.

Two new additions

Snows Group Plymouth will become the city’s first Van Centre (previously customers would have had a 50-mile drive to either Exeter or Truro), while Lookers Glasgow will be the third Van Centre in Scotland’s largest city, joining VW Van Centre Glasgow and VW Van Centre Glasgow West.

At the heart of England, Parkway Volkswagen Leicester Van Centre has undergone a complete redevelopment, seeing the site expand its current showroom facility as well as investing in further aftersales capacity.

The openings not only underline our investors’ confidence in our brand, but also mean more customers are closer to one of our specialist outlets,” Rose Butterworth, Head of Customer Quality and Network Development for Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, explained.

“We sold a record number of vehicles in the UK in 2015, and with this comes a responsibility to work in partnership with our customers throughout the life of those vehicles. We understand the importance of vans to any businesses, and our promise to all our customers is to provide them with the advice, support and expertise to keep their businesses moving.”

The Snows Van Centre at Plymouth has opened this month, as has the refurbished Parkway Volkswagen at Leicester, while Lookers Glasgow is hoped to be welcoming its first visitors in the next couple of weeks.
