Mitsubishi loves a special edition pickup, and the latest L200 to get the treatment is this Barbarian Black model, which has appeared at the 2019 CV Show.
What’s special about the L200 Barbarian Black?
As the name suggests, it’s based on the standard Barbarian trim level – which also means that it’s exclusively available in the Double Cab body style – but in common with the two previous SVP and SVP II L200 special editions, it gets a bunch of exterior modifications.
These include wheel arch extensions, grille, bumpers, door mirrors, door handles, side steps and 17-inch alloy wheels all finished in black.
More significantly for this particular L200 special, the Barbarian Black comes with a choice of three load area accessories as part of the price; pick between a hard top, a fullbox (which is an aerodynamic deck lid with integrated gas struts for ease of lifting and interior lighting, as pictured) or a roller top with sports bars.
Does the Mitsubishi L200 Barbarian Black come with lots of standard equipment?
The rest of the specification is largely the same as the Barbarian model, which basically means it comes absolutely loaded with kit. Highlight items include:
- LED puddle lamps
- Soft-opening tailgate
- Rear-view camera
- DAB digital radio
- Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
- Bluetooth
- Heated front seats
- Leather upholstery
- Interior mood lighting
- Automatic lights and wipers
- Dual-zone climate control
Buyers can choose between the standard six-speed manual and the optional five-speed automatic, and all versions are powered by the 181hp version of Mitsubishi’s 2.4-litre turbodiesel engine.
Colour choice is limited to Diamond Black, White Pearl or Atlantic Grey.
How many Mitsubishi L200 Barbarian Black models will be sold?
This is a limited edition of 500 in the UK.
How much does the Mitsubishi L200 Barbarian Black cost?
Prices for the Mitsubishi Barbarian Black start at £30,500. It’s on sale now.
