Have you spent the coronavirus lockdown just wishing someone would come up with a stylish, limited-edition version of a large van? If so, Fiat has apparently been reading you mind, as it’s just announced the Ducato Shadow Edition.
Limited to just 100 examples in the UK, it climbs aboard the current trend for primer grey paint finishes that’s been haunting the car world for a little while now, while also packing an attractive roster of standard kit. Let’s shine a light on this thing…

What’s special about the Ducato Shadow Edition?
If you were going to rank large vans on looks, the latest Ducato would probably already be somewhere up near the top of the list – it’s got a real bit of Italian swagger about it. The Shadow Edition pushes this even further, thanks to the use of new ‘pastel grey’ paint (including for the front bumper) and black alloy wheels.
On the inside you get a 7.0-inch infotainment system with DAB radio, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus air-conditioning. There are also rear parking sensors, as you wouldn’t want to mess up that smart paint first time out, would you now?
Is the Shadow Edition available across the Ducato range?
Quite the opposite – you can only get it as a LWB model with the 140hp version of Fiat’s punchy 2.3-litre multijet II diesel engine.
Still, in this spec, Fiat claims the Ducato will return 40.9mpg, which is impressive but unlikely to be realistic when loaded to the roof.
What’s the price of the Ducato Shadow Edition?
Grab a seat: It’s £32,800 plus VAT. Which is apparently £1,745 less than it would cost if you were adding all the attractive bells and whistles to a standard Ducato with the same engine and bodysize.
Like we said, Fiat is making just 100 of them available to UK buyers, so now that dealer showrooms are allowed to open again, it could well be worth making a trip sooner rather than later.
