Renault has added a higher trim level specification to its Kangoo ZE electric van. The new Business+ model builds on the existing Business version, but adds £1,070 in extra kit for an upgrade cost of just £600.
The move also brings the Kango ZE into line with the rest of the Kangoo range, reflecting the growing popularity of electric vans and refreshing one of the pioneers in this sector of the market.
What’s included on the Kangoo ZE Business+?
Smartening up the outside, the Business+ version comes with metallic paint as standard – including for the front and rear bumpers; on the regular Business model these are unpainted. You’ll also find gloss black door mirrors, with electric operation and folding.
On the insider there’s a central armrest with storage underneath, an overhead storage bin, and one-touch electric window for the driver. You also get rear parking sensors and rubber load floor in the back.
How many versions does it come in?
The ZE Business+ is available in the same medium wheelbase and long wheelbase body lengths as the standard van, and features the same electric drivetrain as the ZE Business.
This means a 33kWh battery pack powering a 44kW electric motor – equivalent to around 60hp. The driving range is a class-leading 143 miles according to the latest official WLTP testing.
The Kangoo ZE is rated to carry a payload of 605-640kg, and the load space will accommodate a Euro pallet. As with all Renault vans, it also comes with a three-year / 100,000-mile Renault Pro+ warranty.
How much does the Kangoo ZE Business+ cost?
Prices start at £19,836 plus VAT – once the government’s Plug-in Van Grant is taken into account (you can find out more about this in our dedicated electric van guide). As mentioned above, this is just £600 more than the Business version.
On Renault’s Fleet Rate+ pay monthly scheme, this works out at just £2 more per month for the Business+ model, at £197. Alternatively, buyers have the option to take advantage of Renault’s current Drive Now Pay Later promotion, with four- and five-year finance offers with nothing to pay for the first three months thanks to an introductory payment holiday.
The Renault Kangoo ZE Business+ is available to order now, though first UK deliveries aren’t expected until autumn 2020.
