Citroen is introducing a series of changes to its Berlingo van range, starting with an improved selection of trim levels and followed by changes to the engine line-up and the addition of new technology.
Now available in X Pro, Worker Pro, Enterprise Pro and Driver Pro specification – the ‘Pro’ part signifying the new models – universal upgrades include a seatbelt reminder on all panel vans, while crew vans now benefit from standard-fit passenger and side/thorax airbags.
Amazingly, the revised Berlingo van range is actually cheaper than it was, with prices starting £1,200 less for panel vans and £1,050 less for crew vans.

What’s new for the 2021 Berlingo van, then?
You can find full details of all the latest standard equipment in the Costs section of our main Citroen Berlingo van review, but the most-popular Enterprise Pro version now includes air-conditioning, rear parking sensors, cruise control with variable speed limiter, an alarm, one-touch electric windows, heated electric-folding mirrors, tyre pressure monitors and the Extenso load-though bulkhead and folding passenger seat.
You also get a colour touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

You said there was more tech coming later?
That’s right. From October 2021 production, the range-topping Driver Pro models will benefit from a new 10.0-inch digital instrument cluster, which replaces the conventional analogue dials and includes improved graphics for other functions. This will also be optional for the Enterprise Pro.
At the same time, the X Pro and Worker Pro versions will be fitted with a 5.0-inch black and white touchscreen, something that ‘wasn’t previously available’. No pictures of that yet, but it sounds interesting.
What about those engine changes?
October 2021 also sees the BlueHDi 100 turbodiesel upgraded to the very latest Euro 6.3 emissions regulations.
This 102hp engine will now come with a six-speed gearbox instead of the old five-speed unit, helping to make it quieter and increase fuel economy at higher speeds, too.
Prefer a petrol engine? Seems quite a few of you do, as Citroen is also adding a new Driver Pro variant of the PureTech 110, which was previously only available in Enterprise Pro specification.
This comes with the shorter of the two body sizes only (Citroen confusingly refers to this as M, with long-wheelbase models called XL), and is also fitted with a six-speed manual gearbox.
A 100% all-electric model called the Citroen e-Berlingo is set to join the range before the end of 2021.
How much does the upgraded 2021 Citroen Berlingo van cost?
Berlingo van prices start at £17,855 before VAT. The October 2021 upgrades are available to order now.
