The Peugeot Expert van is now £1,000 cheaper across the range – including the e-Expert electric model – as the firm updates the line up with new ‘Premium’ trim levels.
To be clear, the trim levels are very similar to those already available, but now they all have Premium added to their names to distinguish the latest versions of this medium van competitor to the Ford Transit Custom and Volkswagen Transporter.
At the same time a new, less powerful automatic gearbox variant has been introduced, in response to customer demand.

So what’s changed exactly?
Aside from a grand being knocked off the basic price and Premium being added to the model names, not a great deal, really.
The new trims are: S Premium, Professional Premium, and Asphalt Premium.
The basic S Premium versions only come in the Standard body length – the middle of the three lengths offered on the Peugeot Expert – with Professional Premium also coming in the shorter Compact and, er, longer Long body lengths.
The range-topping Asphalt Premium comes in Standard or Long.
Standard equipment details can be found in the updated version of our Peugeot Expert review.

What’s the new automatic model?
Previously, Peugeot’s EAT8 eight-speed automatic has only been available with the most powerful BlueHDi 180 diesel models – now you can also have the same self-shifting gearbox with the less expensive BlueHDi 145.
The BlueHDI 145 automatic is only available in Professional Premium specification, while the BlueHDi 180 auto only comes in Asphalt Premium.
Any changes for the Peugeot e-Expert?
As well as benefiting from the same basic price saving, the e-Expert electric van is now offered in Professional Premium and Asphalt Premium specifications.
And the new pricing?
Starting price for the Peugeot Expert S Professional diesel with BlueHDi 100 engine is now £22,995; Professional Premium models start from £23,480 with the shorter Compact body or £24,180 in Standard length.
Asphalt Premium costs from £29,010 (also in standard length).
The e-Expert starts at £32,450, but that’s before the UK government Plug-in Van Grant, which saves you up to £6,000 more.
The updated models are on sale now.
