The facelifted version of the SsangYong Musso pickup truck has gone on display at the 2021 Commercial Vehicle Show at the Birmingham NEC in late August.
However, the changes are centred around a dramatic revision to the front-end styling – though a specification update is due in the early part of 2022.

My, what a big grille you have
Yep, that’s certainly not a small grille, extending almost from the bottom of the bumper right up to the bonnet line.
This is accompanied by changes to the rest of the front bumper, which now has striking vertical vent details that include a lighting element.
There are no other significant alterations on the outside of the Musso facelift – the rear of the vehicle carrying over as it was. The new look has also been applied to the Musso Rhino long-wheelbase variant.
On this basis, why should I care?
Well, because the current SsangYong Musso has always offered good value, with keen pricing and a seven-year warranty as standard.
It’s also quite a comfortable pickup to drive. And though it lacks the ground clearance of some rivals, it does have 3,500kg (3.5-tonne) towing capacity in combination with high payload ratings, making it a very practical choice.
When does the facelifted SsangYong Musso go on sale?
The facelifted SsangYong Musso is on sale in the UK. There aren’t many in the country yet, but dealers are able to take orders and some have been sold already.
Looks aside, a more significant upgrade to the Musso is coming early in 2022 – though we’re still expecting to get behind the big grille’s steering wheel at some point before the end of 2021.
