Maxus has announced a promotional campaign to encourage buyers into its electric pickup truck, the T90 EV.
The promotion is called the ‘5, 6, 7, 8 Campaign’ and the headline incentive is a £6,000 ‘conquest programme’. A conquest programme is a discount by a fancy name, but it comes alongside some other features too. The ‘5’ refers to its five-year warranty, the ‘7’ to the 7kW charger that Maxus will install for you and the ‘8’ to the eight years of warranty on the battery.
Maxus is hoping this offer will be sufficient to get buyers to ditch the ‘Better the devil you know’ attitude and take Steps into electric pickup ownership.
However, it is unlikely to set off a huge Chain Reaction of sales as the two warranties are not new, while every electric Maxus was already offered with a free charger. This particular offer only applies to the T90 EV, although the brand does offer Scrappage deals on its other vans, the eDeliver 9 and eDeliver 3..
Ultra low grant
The offer doesn’t include the Government’s Plug-In Van Grant, so buyers can also get a £5,000 contribution towards the purchase price, bringing the starting price for a T90EV down to £38,950 (not including VAT).
Maxus has confirmed that the offer is not a scrappage deal, so buyers will not need to trade in a qualifying vehicle – it is open to all. It is, however, only a limited-time offer, as it is available until 30 September 2023.
Have you said that buying a new electric pickup is the Last Thing on My Mind, or will this tempt you to change your view in a Heartbeat?
