The Mercedes-Benz Vito range has been enhanced with the addition of a new range-topping limited edition version – the Premium Night Edition. It comes as Mercedes adds air conditioning across the Vito range.
As the new version’s name suggests, it builds on the existing Premium trim, adding a selection of features, most of which are aimed at upping the visual appeal of the Vito, although it does bring a bit more luxury, too.
It is only available in the one length – the longer L2 – and with the 9G-tronic plus automatic gearbox.
What equipment does the Mercedes-Benz Vito Premium Night Edition come with?
The Premium Night Edition is, appropriately for its name, offered in the Obsidian Black metallic paint as standard but it adds black 17-inch alloy wheels to complete the look. The other notable addition to the standard equipment on the outside is a set of roof rails, while it also gets an LED projector that shines the Mercedes-Benz emblem on the floor when you are parked up.
There are more features on the inside, including satellite navigation with live traffic info, ambient interior lighting, an intelligent LED lighting system and leather seats that are heated for the driver and passenger.
You can get the Premium Night Edition in both panel van and crew van variants, and the latter adds dark tinted rear windows.
Mercedes has also taken the launch of the Premium Night Edition as an opportune moment to lightly boost the spec across the range, adding air conditioning to every model.
The extra kit on the Premium Night Edition does have a slightly detrimental impact on the weight of the vehicle, bringing payload down by 28kg versus the Premium trim, taking it to just 873kg. This is some way short of the best medium-sized vans for payload.
How much does the Premium Night Edition cost and when can I buy one?
The Premium Night Edition panel van will cost £41,940 (not including VAT) while the crew van will set you back £44,100, meaning both attract a premium of around £4,500 over the standard Premium trim.
Both are available to order now, with deliveries starting in ‘late 2023’.
