Stellantis has announced a raft of updates to its large van range. Most significantly, the electric versions can be recharged considerably quicker than before.

The changes apply to the Citroen Relay, Peugeot Boxer, Fiat Ducato and Vauxhall Movano. Previously, the electric versions of those vans have had an 11kW on-board charger which allowed a full recharge from a typical three-phase wallbox in a lengthy 11 hours 45 minutes. Now they’ve all gained a 22kW on-board charger, which cuts the time it takes to fully recharge down to a much more convenient six hours five minutes.

Using a 150kW DC charger, a 0-80% charge takes 55 minutes. Range on a fully battery charged battery is unchanged at 263 miles on the WLTP cycle. Stellantis notes that it’s the UK’s best-selling e-van maker, shifting a total of 7,821 examples from across its range in 2024.

Diesel van updates

That’s not all. The 2.2-litre diesel engine available in the vans has been updated up meet stricter emissions standards coming into force on 1 January 2026. Stellantis hasn’t elaborated on what changes have been made, or what effect – if any – they have on performance and efficiency.

Rounding out the updates, the diesel vans are now available with the seven-inch infotainment system display that has hitherto only been found in the electric versions. It’s a £400 (excluding VAT) option replacing the standard five-inch display and features wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

Production of the updated vans starts in May 2025. Stellantis hasn’t stated if prices will rise or not; we’ll report back if they do.
