Vauxhall Astra Coupe 2.0i 16v Turbo 2d (2001/Y) Owner Review

Economy
Value
Depending on what you're looking for, fast and well-equipted, mine was 2 1/2 years old for £11,000 from a Network Q.
Costs
So far, so good. The fuel consumption is suprisingly good at around 32mph on a combined cycle; on a long run you can expect 44mpg. It's still under man warranty, so no parts bought yet. But it's a Vauxhall - I am sure I will soon!

On the road
Driving
Very good. Nice and firm, but you still have to put up with the understeer of a 200 bhp front wheel drive car.
Performance
Not quite the animal Vauxhall would like to make out, but with no tubo lag and a top-end of 150mph, it's no slouch! When it pulls from 80mph, it's something else!

Living with it
Reliability
It's never broken down, BUT it does have some jumping issues which Vauxhall can't seem to fix.
Image
I think it's ok. Much better then a Puma or 406 coupe... well, faster anyway!
Comfort
Very good. Much better than I thought. Because of the long gearing, it sits at 80 in 5th at 3500 revs, so not noisy either.

Security and Service
Security
Seems good. Immobilser and alarm as standard.
Service
It's Vauxhall... very, very poor! They seem to enjoy arguing with the customer?
