Vauxhall Astra Hatchback 1.4 L 5d (1991/J) Owner Review

Economy
Value
Can't argue really. £75 from auction, with 1 month mot left and full history.
Costs
Good. Cost me £200 (ripped off my garage) for MOT - just brake lines, just replaced front pads £10, and it's had a new clutch £120 fitted, and she does about 100 miles for £10 with 1/2 off that highish revs.

Driving
For an old 5-dr car, the steering is good, nice, direct, precise and doesn't feel like a big car either.
Performance
For a 1.4 8v, it flies. It's got 94k miles on it wiv full S/H and pulls lovely - you can overtake no problem.

Living with it
Reliability
Owned her for 3 months-ish and always got me to college/work/girlfriend's house etc... even with cold mornings.
Image
Old, boy racer, scally etc... looks like I've nicked it! 2 produces within first month!
Comfort
Upfront, quality, sporty derived seats hug, driver's seat adjust in everyway, good for short or long journeys, back's spaceous also.

Security and Service
Security
Mine's still on original key! (touch wood) but get some security - I've got an £80 disklock an alarm.
Service
Do serviing myself. Bigger jobs go to an independent, which are well priced.
