Vauxhall Astra Hatchback 2.0i GTE 3d (1990/G) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
Excellent value. Reliability is key issue for a 10 year old car.
Costs
Mass produced. Spoilt for choice. GTEs either owned by yobs or somebody's pride and joy.
-
On the road
Driving
Uprate suspension with Aftermarkets like Koni / Jamex.
Performance
Puts many new / modern hot hatches to shame. Instant low end pulling power, whilst others have to wait for it to come on.
-
Living with it
Reliability
No mechanical / electrical failures. Just servicable items, e.g. Cam belt, brake pads, fuel filters etc.
Image
Ok in late 80s and early 90s. Now people look and just think of their teenage years of fun. Not a patch on modern designs.
Comfort
For a day to day car, very liveable with.

Security and Service
Security
1 Aftermarket alarm fitted and 2 insurance approved Cat 2 immobilsers fitted. That bad, even your Gran could take one for a joy ride.
Service
Main dealer very cheap on servicing. Local garage very cheap on repairs!
