Economy
Value
Depending how much you plan to spend, you do get a lot for your money - air bag, power steering, electric pack etc. If you find a good one, its worth paying that little extra for.
Costs
Parts are cheap, and if you are a member of the VxlSSC, then trade prices on genuine Vauxhall parts - well worth it. I have only replaced general wear and tear parts for peace of mind.

Driving
Nice smooth, quiet drive. I have stiffened the suspension as it would roll about on corners.
Performance
Surprisingly good for a 1600. The Ecotec is a good engine, which again, is smooth and sounds very nice. Because of the extra 8 valves, it is pretty juicy - but I didn't buy it for economy!

Living with it
Reliability
These engines are reliable, and with regular servicing, along with the belt, pulleys and tensioner replaced under 33k as a precaution - they will run fine.
Image
Nice curvy, smooth body, still looks modern. An easy way of updating its appearance is to fit newer model alloys.
Comfort
Being a sport, you have the luxury of sports seats. They are fully adjustable and are in fact very comfortable and hold you nicely in the seat.

Security and Service
Security
Unsure of this one. I have fitted a Clifford alarm system - purely for the fact it has MK4 SXi alloys and is a very clean example - so would probably appeal to a would - be - thief.
