Economy
Value
Bought at 3 yrs old/23k for 6.5k V. Good.
Costs
Nothing over expected wear and tear & Servicing costs.
-
On the road
Driving
Better than the Rover 214 it replaced.
Performance
Has to be driven hard to keep up with most 1.4s of a similar age. Once up to speed will stay there all day (I know - I did 2000 miles on French Motorways at 85+ MPH)

Living with it
Reliability
See costs above. Servicing etc not too expensive. Could run into some expensive repairs now it has reached 60K+ miles - Engine Management light has started lighting, and AC is failing rapidly. Beginning to feel it's age.
Image
Too many on the road to be desirable.
Comfort
Lacks a few creature comforts, but seating etc fine. Bit cramped with 3 adults and 2 small children in though. Boot could do with being a fraction wider sometimes.

Security and Service
Security
Still sat on my path after 3 years, which is more than the Mk II Astra I had did.
Service
Dealers know about most problems due to the number on the road.

Problems and Ownership
Problems
Engine
Failed Alternator and new exhaust. This is probably due to the way I drive it rather than a problem with the car or it's build quality.
