Economy
Value
For what I paid for it, it's a bargain really.
Costs
Running costs are low, because of cheap parts and fuel. Also insurance group 4 on this car, although it's more expensive to insure than my cavalier. So far it's cost me about £300 in new tyres and discs at the front.

On the road
Driving
Good handling and sure footing on the road.
Performance
Actually it flies for a 74BHP engine! I was pleasantly surprised by it's acceleration and top speed is 115MPH with my foot to the board.

Living with it
Reliability
Seems okay although the switch panel for the heater controls has broken and it cost me £80 for just the part alone! :( Also I notice a growling/ rumbling noise coming from the fan blower
Image
I think it's a good car for the money, I'm fairly happy with Vauxhalls as they're good value and reasonably cheap compared to VW. I had a Golf MkIII 1.4 before this and the engine was gutless compared to the Astra 1.6 8V
Comfort
It's OK, but the seats aren't as comfy as the old Cavalier. I was a bit disappointed about that. Also the ride is OK but begins to feel uncomfortable after 3 hours driving.
