-
Economy
Value
Cheaper than the Focus when second hand, but compares well.
Costs
Cheap to insure and run.

On the road
Driving
It's a diesel so a bit slow, but handles very well. Steering a bit too light.
Performance
It's ok for a diesel. Happier once it's wound up. 0-60 in 16 secs, but is better on acceleration after you hit 40.

Living with it
Reliability
No major problems, just silly annoying things like small rubber fuel pipes.
Image
The three door looks quite Coupe-like and looks quite nice in a metallic. It's just the name 'Astra' that lets it down.
Comfort
Firm, supportive seats and everything is easy to reach. Suspension's good too. Not too soft, not too jarring.
