Summary
What does this car say about you?
It says i want a car that's reliable, well equipped, quick and good to drive, but i don't want to pay BMW prices.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Most people see it as an astra, but once inside theyre quite impressed with the amount of kit, the ride and how quiet it is.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Definately, far cheaper than focus equivalent and will show 2.0 focus a very good fight.
What are you likely to buy next?
A decent diesel astra or sport hatch with the same engine as this.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Great car. If you want a comfortable, smooth ride it can do it. If you want a sharp handling, grippy and confident car it des that just as well. Well controlled body roll and enormous brakes (330mm on front 280mm rear, must be off the omega or something that sort of size). Engine very eager, the 1.8 16v provides plenty of power and torque, and acceleration is effortless upto nearly 120mph (although it likes to drink).
What's it like to park?
Steering seems more suited to a sporty drive, a little heavy for round town and parking but not that bad in the scheme of things. Rear visibilty not as good as mk3 astra due to higher bootline.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Front spring needed replacing, apart from that nothing that isn't normally included in a service.
What's most practical about your car?
Huge boot for its class. Loads bigger than previous astra and mk4 golf.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Air con, great for summer and winter. Steering mounted stereo controls and cd changer are also pretty cool.
