Vauxhall Astra Hatchback (1998 - 2005) 2.2i 16V Elegance 5d Auto Owner Review

OK this car is 17 years of age with only 51000 miles and FSH so it's probably a one off. I paid the princely sum of £500 only a few days ago so I can't tell you anything about long term reliability. All I know is that it is probably one of the fastest cars I have owned and the sports mode makes it rediculously quick. On a run she seems good on fuel though less good around town as you would expect. The interior is spot on no rattles or creaks and everything works including ice cold climate control air con. No signs of obvious leaks and starts on the button with any chain noise disappearing quickly on start up. If you do love a fast drive in a pocket money car in this case bought because I broke my left foot and needef an auto then I could not recommend it enough. With this spec you get heated windscreen and a very good quality Phillips stereo and 4 CD player if like me you still have some! "So in conclusion time will tell but with a well known reliable power unit made by Opel this car could be the best few hundred pound you ever spent. Have some fun before we are all forced to go electric!
