Vauxhall Astra Hatchback (2004 - 2010) 1.6i 16V Club (115ps) 5d Owner Review

Astra made financial sense over the Focus or Golf as a nearly new buy. Has been very reliable with the exception of a few electrical niggles and served me well over 90k+ miles. Decent safety, room, comfort, driving position and practicality but just so boring to drive. 1.6 is very short on pull. Can recommend the car from a practical point of view - but go for a 1.8 or strong diesel engine to avoid falling asleep at the wheel.
