Vauxhall Astra Hatchback (2004 - 2010) 1.8 Design 5d Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
Had this car from 63000 miles on the clock and can say has never let me down as I've been all over the country with it, being comfortable and easy to drive specially when you compare to a Y reg corsa C that i had prior just driving an hour to pick up the Astra giving my back and leg ache but back to the astra it has a fair bit of kit on the design model electric windows front/back with rear window lock so its all geared towards family safety.
had no service history when i brought it but i could see it had been looked after enough looking at the engine bay and i did an interim service myself the same month of purchase for peace of mind and is smooth on the road going from the 28MPG that was originally doing to 31 MPG which can increase if i have more efficient tyres ect. all in all a well built car and I would choose this over any version after it as driving the latest Astra K was nice with the gadgets but the pedals feel spongy and the steering is too light, as i enjoy having the feedback from the road which is well balanced on this car.
How reliable do you find the car?
Only issues with these cars is the common coolant sensor failure and the clouding of the headlights (also common other cars in this category i.e golfs)Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
Automatic headlights and wipers for this age of car is really nice along with the surprising amount of torque from the engine.About their car
