Summary
What does this car say about you?
That I had very little choice in the make, model and colour of car I was allocated.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Not had any comments one way or the other yet. The Astra is a fairly anonymous design, this latest version is definately streets ahead of the previous model which was a bit bland.
Would you buy this car again and why?
To early to say but generally I never have the same car twice.
What are you likely to buy next?
My next car will probably be my retirement vehicle so I will likely go for a Golf or a Focus unless the Astra grows on me and I decide to buy it.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Very smooth and comfortable, easy car to drive all controls are light. Although there is no specific running in procedure I treat my cars fairly gently over the first 1000 miles keeping the engine spinning freely and not labouring in too high a gear. Will comment on performance when its loosened up a bit. Engine seems a bit gruffer and not quite so refined as my previous diesel Clio.
What's it like to park?
Its ok but like most modern designs it has a few blindspots, the rather thick A pillar and front door design requires a bit of care at junctions and roundabouts and visibility to the rear is a bit limited. I will get used to it.

5 door hatchback, lots of cubby holes for storage.Roomy and comfortable with lots of adjustment for seat and steering wheel position.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
