Vauxhall Astra Hatchback (2015 - 2021) SRi VX-Line Nav 1.6i Turbo 200PS S/S 5d Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
Decided I originally wanted a 1.4T as I have always had hothatches in the past but after seeing that Vauxhall made the 1.6T 200bhp engine in the new Astra. I decided to go for that version. My local dealer was great they managed to offer to source a car for me as they seemed quite rare to find especially in SRi VX Line trim.
Initial impressions were good, looks great (although the suspension sits a bit high imo, huge gaps in the arches) , the only indication that it's a bit different is the twin exhausts out the rear bumper. Inside is nice, seats are very comfortable. Sat nav is nice, although a post code entry option would have been much better than having to type the whole address and city etc. Rear room is good, we have 3 young boys and they all fit in no issues. Boot space again good, no real complaints in normal day to day living and doing the shopping.
Performance is very good, it's great to have what looks like a standard Astra almost but have a bit of power. 200bhp and 221lb/ft of torque is enough to see off a standard Fiesta ST or A standard Corsa VXR. MPG is also very good, averaging around 31 mpg with 90% town driving. On a long motorway run it goes upto between 46-52 MPG.
All in all in a good car and very much recommended to anyone looking for an alternative to a Focus or entry level poor spec Golf, my only gripes are the sat nav entry (no post code option) , the colour (I didn't want black, but settled for black as they were hard to find in VX Line trim with the 1.6T 200 engine) and the arch gaps between the tyre and the arches. So nothing major to complain about tbh, just gripes in my opinion.
