What does this car say about you?

Now the price is coming down it says chav boy racer - but I've had it 7 years and I love it so who cares!

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

I think they like it. Some of the younger ones like it more.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes the mk2 version would be nice but I wouldn't pay £27k for a Vauxhall Astra.

What are you likely to buy next?

Probably stick with Vauxhall, although a VW would be nice or even an Audi S3 (dream on!).

Yes, family and friends discount and GM card points.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Always had sporty good looking Astras.

What was the dealer like?

Very good - Blakes at Chesterfield.

What's it like to drive?

It seems to handle better the faster you go. Just be aware of the tramlining with the large tyres and grip the wheel tighter when driving "enthusiastically".

What's it like to park?

Always reverse into a parting slot if poss because the back end is quite a large blind spot. Reversing sensors or cameras would be good.

Have you had any problems with the car?

Gear lever sometimes goes a bit loose when hot after a long run, but reverts back to normal when cold. Lubricating the gear linkage on top of the gear box has helped.

What's most practical about your car?

Only 2 in the family so the size is fine. Amazing what can be fitted in the boot with the seats down.

Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Keyless entry - but security issues in the press about scanners being used to steal keyless cars (ok it's only an Astra but I paid a lot of money for it) make me twitchy - so I use a Disklock when parked up. Also the sport button for when I'm in the mood for some fun!
