Vauxhall Calibra 2.0i SE5 3d (LT) (1996/N) Owner Review

Economy
Value
Excellent value for money with lots of luxury for standard models.
Costs
Not expensive to repair as most parts can be obtained independent parts dealers.

On the road
Driving
Nice motorway car, but very sluggish acceleration. Doesn"t handle particularly well, but is a comfortable drive. Doesn"t feel as sporty as it looks!
Performance
This 8-valve model is sluggish. Wouldn"t recommend buying an 8v or 16v car: definitely go for a Turbo and V6.

Living with it
Reliability
Haven"t had it all that long, but seems reliable enough. Owned Astra GTE for 3 years prior to this and that was very reliable with the same engine.
Image
Not as smart as in the early 90s as they are very popular now and boy racers are spoiling the image a little, but still an attractive car today.
Comfort
Comfortable drive, especially on the motorway.

Security and Service
Security
Cat 2 immobiliser and standard alarm. No problems yet, but do have one of those great big disklocks as an added feature.
