Vauxhall Calibra 2.5i V6 3d (LT) (1995/N) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
You get a lot of luxury for bottom dollar.
Costs
Servicing and parts on V6 are quite steep, given Cavalier underpinnings.
-
On the road
Driving
No hot hatch handling-wise, but great on the motorway.
Performance
Super smooth and quick acceleration, but V6 is geared more for comfort.
-
Living with it
Reliability
No real problems yet (after 12 months).
Image
Starting to show its age a bit now against 406 coupe, but still a mean looking motor!
Comfort
Comfortable at speed, but can be harsh over rougher surfaces.
-
Security and Service
Security
It's got a Thatcham-approved alarm from 1995 on, I"ve been told.
Service
Good overall but a bit expensive.

Problems and Ownership
Problems
Engine
Needed new crankshaft pulley and cam belt (fixed under warranty).

Calibras ride quite low, so watch that exhaust (trust me!)
