Economy
Value
You get a lot of car for the money. Comfort, tinted electric windows, mirrors, sunroof, central locking, ABS, and a CD player if you're lucky!
Costs
They're getting old now, so the prices are dropping, but you can still get one in excellent nick for around a grand.

On the road
Driving
Nippy it ain't, but it comes into its own when cruising down the motorway or taking the family on holiday. Go for automatic, it's effortless.
Performance
Jenson Button would hate it, but if you're a family man with limited cash, well... beggars can't be choosers.

Living with it
Reliability
I've had problems of course, but it's never left me stranded and it's always fired up on the button every time.
Image
It ain't a bird puller, but it's a practical motor. Comfortable cruiser which converts into a van when you need the space.
Comfort
Seats are excellent, especially in the back. You'll have to try hard to get better leg room. A long drive is effortless.

Security and Service
Security
Buy yourself a Krooklock!
Service
Not used Vauxhall dealers much. Service charges a far too high considering the value of a second hand Carlton.
