Vauxhall Cavalier Saloon 2.5 V6 CDX 4d (1995/N) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
Leather, Air Con, 170BHP and cheap to buy.
Costs
Cam belt expensive ~£300. Otherwise good. 28MPG.
-
On the road
Driving
Suspension designed for Pipe & Slippers, Koni Suspension is a vast improvement.
Performance
Heavy flywheel means pick-up at low revs is a bit slow, but 3,500 to 6,500 it flies.
-
Living with it
Reliability
Very reliable engine management compared to the 2.0 Ecotec variant.
Image
Looks the same as a 1.6GL. Very underestimated street sleeper. Doesn't show the sporty look of the SRI/GSI/Turbo.
Comfort
Quite comfortable, but body roll needs suspension upgrade.
-
Security and Service
Security
Vauxhall immobiliser/Ultrasonics and deadlocks are very good.
Service
Usual dealer costs. Best off DIY, as for most.
