Summary
What does this car say about you?
My car was purple - and I'm a bloke. You can imagine what people thought of me...
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes - when I was 17 the insurance was about £3,000 less than what my friend was paying in his 1.1l peugeot 106.
What are you likely to buy next?
Something with more space.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Didn't buy from a dealer
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£1,400
When did you buy the car?
May 2008
Did you get a good deal and why?
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Very cheap insurance for a 17 year old. Put the car on my parents' multicar policy and it cost a male driver (and my two older sisters) just over £1,000 for a years insurance.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Slow. It can be dangerous at times, because when you're trying to pull out on a fast road with a car full of people it just isn't fast enough. It's not good for overtaking because there's absolutely no acceleration, especially on the motorway. Other than this, it's quite smooth, not very bouncy and is great fun if you can find a wet field to go drifting in. There's reasonable space for 5 people. Once, we left our tent at home and four of us slept in the car for two nights. Engine is small, so you do have to change down for a hill.
What's it like to park?
No power steering on my model. However, steering doesn't feel heavy when parking unless there's four or five people in the car. Visibility is good. It had plastic bumpers so I could happily drive into dustbins and the back of my friends' cars all day long without damaging any paintwork.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Early 1990's technology -.all problems have been electrical problems, including a problem with the mass air flow meter and the idle control valve. However, the car was plugged into a diagnostics machine for £10 which identified the problems.
What's most practical about your car?
Small - easy to park and fits in really small gaps.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
A megaphone that I bought aftermarket.
