Summary
What does this car say about you?
Originally that we were cost conscious. Now given it's age, probably that we can't afford anything newer!
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Some don't mind it because it's a cheap fairly attractive motor in silver but others insult it due to the tiny engine. i.e. lawnmower jokes etc.
Would you buy this car again and why?
I wouldn't buy this shape Corsa again, because there are two newer models out now, but I would buy one of the newer shape Corsa's.
What are you likely to buy next?
Either the new shape Corsa or a VW Polo. About a couple of years old.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Independent
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£0
When did you buy the car?
May 2004
Did you get a good deal and why?
I got an ok deal, £3450 for a 4 and a bit yr old car with 32,000 on the clock.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Thought it would be cheap to run being a 1.2. Also being 5dr I knew it would have good access.
What was the dealer like?
Dealer was generally ok, but I didn't like it when I pointed out a broken door mirror and scuffed hub caps. He told me that the mirror would cost £7 to replace and the hub caps £10 for a set. The mirror cost £50 for a new housing and 2 Vauhall hubs £40.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Passable as it is old fashioned now (shape came out in 1992/3). Nowhere near as nice to drive as newer cars.
What's it like to park?
Good, because it's so small.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
A couple of sensors (£80), CV joint, Exhaust manifold, Drivers door hinge, Drivers seat collapsed and just the usual brake discs and tyres etc. Above average reliability though, faults didn't appear until about 90,000 miles.
What's most practical about your car?
5 Door, fair rear leg room, quite good MPG( averages 42).
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Factory CD/Radio.
