  • Economy

    Value

    3 out of 5 3.0

For the money you pay its not a bad car at all, although it is lacking in technology, its a lot nicer than its rival the Fiesta.

    Costs

    5 out of 5 5.0

Very economical, services are extremely cheap, and even cheaper if you do them yourself, buy a Haynes service and repair manual, and there is hardly anything the DIY mechanic can't do.

  • On the road

    Driving

    2 out of 5 2.0

Very slow acceleration being single point injection, handles horrible as standard but fit suspension from a sport/SRI/GSI model and it isn't so bad.

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    5 out of 5 5.0

Never had any problems with it so far, just watch out for optimistic fuel gauges!

    Image

    1 out of 5 1.0

Tiny steel wheels and extra high suspension make it look like a bit of a grannies car, but lower it and slap some nice alloys on it and its tolerable.

    Comfort

    2 out of 5 2.0

Seats are fine for short journeys, but anything longer than an hour and you will be suffering from back pain for a while.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    1 out of 5 1.0

Not fantastic as there is no alarm or immobiliser, but door locks are steering lock is much better than the fords of that year.

    Service

    3 out of 5 3.0

Vauxhall are ok, but they have never managed to do a parts order for me without either forgetting something or giving me wrong parts. Very over priced on repairs.
