Value
Obtained from other family member.
Costs
Servicing reasonable but have had to spend more than I like on repairs. Insurance average.

On the road
Driving
Compare it to another supermini of the same age and it is a bad shock. Handling safe but crashes in and out of the smallest pothole. Speed bumps a particular problem.
Performance
1.4 litre 8-valve is reasonably quick. Motorway overtaking needs planning, though. Engine noisy when pushed.

Living with it
Reliability
Touch wood, fine. Can be difficult to start when cold (I live in Scotland) and is quite fragile, so small bumps and thumps need repairing.
Image
Seen as quite desirable.
Comfort
I am 6 foot 3 inches and long journeys are tiring. Seats not overly supportive. Lack of sunroof means good headroom. The appalling ride doesn't help.

Security and Service
Security
Immobiliser so efficient it sometimes stops me from driving the car. No one has tried to nick it, though.
Service
Main dealers quite expensive but efficient. Try and find a good independent mechanic for servicing.

Problems and Ownership
Problems
Engine
Noisy, but reliable so far after 62,000 miles. Reasonable fuel economy.
Other
Plenty of space but not up to my 1,200 mile round trips. It's being replaced with something bigger.
