Summary
What does this car say about you?
that im not bothered about answers to questions like this
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
good sturdy eco-box
Would you buy this car again and why?
No, cheap enough but the faults Ive encountered simply should not be happening on a car of such low mileage
What are you likely to buy next?
another small car but despite recession market is not that competetive, looking more and more like a Mazda 2
-
Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchise
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£5,600
When did you buy the car?
October 2004
Did you get a good deal and why?
5600 for an 18 month old car with 6700 miles on the clock, I felt it was a fair deal and the car was like new
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Replacing an Escort GTI which had been written off (not my fault) had fallen out of love with cars and wanted something economical, reliable and cheap to insure
What was the dealer like?
Friendly enough but hard work to get anything out of. Let me drive off the forecourt only to call me to say the locking wheel key was missing, had to take car back and wait a day whilst they drilled out the locking nuts and replaced them.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Fine if a little under-powered at times
What's it like to park?
easy, nice light steering

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Was bullet proof for the first three years, once we had rolled over 36k however, be warned... head gasket failed, water pump failed, timing chain tensioner needed replacing, total cost, best part of £500, crankshaft sensor and oil pressure switch failed (could have been terminal if I hadn't caught it in time) total cost £110, gearbox now on the wane and wont engage 1st or 2nd properly, total cost... dont care it's going this weekend. Absolute rubbish should not be happening on a car with almost half the average miles on the clock.
What's most practical about your car?
Cheap to run when it works, when it breaks, can just about awallow the bill costs as parts are cheap enough, compared to other makes
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
steering wheel audio controls are handy but nothing special didn't buy for gadgets
