Summary
What does this car say about you?
Sucker.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
They sympathise with us.
Would you buy this car again and why?
No, absolutely not, even if I was given a free one, or tortured.
What are you likely to buy next?
Hopefully back to a VW.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Independent
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£1,295
When did you buy the car?
March 2012
Did you get a good deal and why?
I got a really bad deal. I traded-in a reasonably good Passat to have £300 knocked off the price. The Vauxhall was the most unreliable car I have ever owned.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Good MPG, cheap tax and insurance. I needed a cheap runaround.
What was the dealer like?
He lied.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Quite nippy, but sounded like a hairdryer.
What's it like to park?
Very good.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Water ingress in boot and all footwells, handbrake cable snapped, wheel trims and internal door panels fell off, ECU fault which meant all the instruments died when I was driving and the fuel wasn't pumped from the tank. The gearbox turned out to belong to a van. As a result the car is off the road waiting to be dumped.
What's most practical about your car?
MPG, tax and insurance. Easy to park.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
The heater was OK and it had a little container for sunglasses above the driver's door.
