Vauxhall Corsa Hatchback (2003 - 2006) 1.4 16V SRi 5d Owner Review

In their own words
The car was a lot quicker than expected and could keep up with bigger engine cars and is faster than the 1.6 version was getting 10.0 second 0 to 60s. The comfort and driving experience is good with very good handling when booting it, only issues with it was the power steering is to light, understeer can be bad and in icy and slippy conditions had issues with over steer but that just adds to the fun =) . interior is nice with the controls on the wheel, but the standard radio is awful. what really only seems to let this car down is the common issues with the tapping timing chain and the alarm or power sounder problem. but overall its not to bad on fuel, great fun to drive, comfy and dirt cheap insurance. but if you are going to buy one make sure its had a timing chain done if its over 80,000 miles then should last till 160,000 till it needs another.
How reliable do you find the car?
had an issue with the timing chain tapping which resulted in it blowing up got a new engine and started to do the same. another common issue was that the alarm and hazards used to play up a lot which was due to a broken internal battery in the alarm which only Vauxhall can sort! seemed to have an issue with the power output for the lights and didnt seem to change much with better bulbs.Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
surprised how fast and good the handling was for a 1.4About their car
