Summary
What does this car say about you?
I'm a boring middle aged housewife!! lol. there's loads on the road driven by all types of people, so probably just says we're a frugal bunch who weren't bothered by image, but wanted something prettier than a Hyundai but more economical than a fiesta!
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
They quite like it, but it's not got the wow factor.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Only in VXR format as the 1.2 petrol and the 1.3CDTi are a bit too pedestrian for me! I do prefer the updated styling on the newer models, they're still good looking. If I needed to save money again I'd buy another small engined Corsa.
What are you likely to buy next?
I'd like a MINI 1.6 Cooper S or Fiat 500 Abarth or Polo GTI.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Independent
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£5,700
When did you buy the car?
April 2011
Did you get a good deal and why?
I think it was overpriced, but small diesels were hard to come by as they were being snapped up quickly.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
I needed an economical hatchback for running to work and shopping and picking up family in.
What was the dealer like?
He wouldn't budge on the price as he knew he could sell it any day of the week. But we've bought cars from him before and not had any problems with them.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Underpowered for my liking. Great once you get in 5th gear cruises fine on motorways, but too slow 0-60. Steering is really light for parking which is great, but understeers at speed, but then it's not a sports car. Visibility is fine, you get used to the thick pillars. Same size as my old MK4 golf so i've had no problems parking in our narrow drive or car parks.
What's it like to park?
Same size as my MK4 golf so easy to park, visibility is fine, you get used to the thick pillars. Steering gets lighter as you go slower to a doddle to park in car parks.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Nope, everything works as it should. It's a basic Vauxhall so not many toys on it to go wrong. Only had to have new brake pads and discs (because I let them get too worn down). Very expensive getting the work done at main dealer though!!
What's most practical about your car?
60+ mpg, years road tax is £20 and the size of the interior rivals my old MK4 golf! Cheap as chips to run!!!
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
It really doesn't have any special gadgets as it's the eco model. It has adequate air con and an ipod connection which I guess is my most favourite "gadget".
